Professional farrier Stephen Teichman has worked on the highest caliber Three-Day Eventing horses, many of which have been Olympic competitors. His clientele have taken him to the last five Olympic Games.
Eventing horses are similar to triathletes, as they must perform in three separate disciplines: Dressage, Cross-Country and Show Jumping. As you can imagine, soundness is crucial and without passing a vet check, you cannot compete.
Teichman says his practice has taught him what it takes to acquire and maintain soundness. He reports that he has been using Propads for the past ten months and has seen excellent results. Exclusively manufactured by Razerhorse, Propads are a high quality polyeurethane hoof pad that act as a shock absorber with the added benefits of a patented, independent frog support.
“They provide a simple and effective way to shift the load from the walls and heels to the frog in a very natural manor,” says Teichman. “We have even used these effectively on horses that have sustained PIII fractures! Not something you would normal try, but they assisted in bringing this particular horse back to work sooner and sounder.”
Through a combination of science and technology, Razerhorse has been able to provide “a better mousetrap”. Teichman says that Propads are a significant improvement to the hoof pad options that have previously been available to farriers.
“My last trip was to the World Equestrian Games in Normandy France, and yes, Propads came with me in my trunks,” says Teichman.
Razerhorse is a hoof care company that promotes better health and performance through science and technology. Razerhorse products are designed to mimic the natural function of the hoof while providing the protection needed for today’s performance horses. Razerhorse currently offers two products: the Razer horseshoe, a tempered tool steel shoe that allows the hoof to flex like a bare foot, and the Propad, a shock-absorbing polyurethane hoof pad that features an accordion-like frog support.
