Pure Country winning the Miss Pennsylvania Final at Pocono

In the $313,800 Miss Pennsylvania Final, Pure Country (last year’s unbeaten freshman) bounced back from her first loss in the previous week’s elimination race, clocking 1:50.3 and winning the inaugural Miss Pennsylvania Classic at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono. Her time in the companion filly event to the Pennsylvania Classic, a state-sired three-year-old pacing colts and geldings race, matched it’s winner, Check Six.

Always B Miki winning the $25k open handicap pace at The Meadowlands

Making his second start of the year, Always B Miki scored decisively in the $25,000 open handicap pace at The Meadowlands. The 5-year-old son of Always A Virgin, who was 4-for-4 a year ago, reached three-quarters in 1:22.1 before sprinting home in :27 to record a 2¾-length, never-an-anxious-moment victory in 1:49.1. He now has 19 wins in 37 career starts.

All of Takter’s horses train in Razer horseshoes and Propads, while some wear them while racing, depending on the needs of the horse.

Standardbred pacer Winds of Change won a $15,000 purse at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Mother’s Day (May 8, 2016) with a time of 1:51.0 while wearing Propads.
